31/05/22 Received a message that our hotel in Llandudno is closed for a week due to electrical work when we were booked to stay there. Have been able to book the County hotel on the North Prom. It will be £3.50 more than the previous hotel.
Update 27/05/2022. Baggage transfer organsed. cost £25 each which is lower than I thought in these inflationary times. You can give me the money when we get to Bangor.
Please keep the weight lower than 15kgs.
Update 26/05/2022. IMPORTANT. The hotel in Llandudno requires payment by 30/5/2022. The cost is £34 per person. Can you please send the money to my bank account. I will send you the details although some of you have my bank details.
Details of hotels found in itinerary. Contact me if you have any preferences.
The invitation is full. I am having difficulty finding accommodation for 10 people. Please don't add your name to definites now. If you want to wait for someone to drop out put yourself down as a maybe.
This walk of 63 miles over 4 days follows the North Wales path.
The itinerary is:
All meet in Bangor on the evening of Monday 27th.
Staying at the Menaii Hotel and Bar. Everyone in twin rooms. Price range per person £35 to 42.50.
28th June Early start 09.00, Bangor to Llanferfechan. The path is the high coastal path with great views over the North Wales Coast, Anglesey and on a clear day even the Isle of Man. Highlights include the Aber falls.
Stay Men at the Platts Farm Bunkhouse. £18.
Women at large house in Penmaenmawr. Girlie night for them, dossing for us. Cost £40 each.
29th June,Llanferfechan to Llandudno. Another 09.00 start and tough day as we finish the mountainous path and drop to the coast. Highlights include the stone circles, Conwy Mountain and Great Orme.
Staying at the Risboro (a chance to see Crystal Balls Kate?) Every one in twin rooms, cost £34 per night each.
30th June, Llandudno to Abergele. Much easier now so no need for an early start. More fields, rolling hills and coastal paths and villages.,
Luxury night. Staying at 4 star Kinmel and Kinspa. If anyone wants to book a pampering session do so. We don't have to start early. All in twin rooms cost Gulp, 4 rooms £70 each per night, 1 room is £90 each per night. Shout up if you want luxury.
1st July. Abergele to Prestatyn. Another relatively easy day to finish. Similar to the previous day. We fortunately avoid Rhyl.
Men: C & J Daisies Holiday home. £22 per night.
Women: Halcyon Quest Hotel, 4 double rooms and one twin room. Twin room 22.50 per person. Double rooms £48 to £55 per person.
2nd July, after a night's post walk dinner we set off home or to our next destination..
Getting there. A problem with many long distant walks is finding somewhere to leave a car. As Bangor and Prestatyn are well served by rail this means cars are not needed. Some might wish to extend the holiday so I would suggest leaving the car in Prestayn.
Accomodation. Will be B & B accomodation. Buy your lunch from the local shops each day . Make sure you have plenty of water on walking days 1 and 2. Costs for accommodation vary so plan for around £50/night for shared rooms, more for single.
I do not want more than 10 on this walk as accommodation is in short supply in some places. I was originally going to do this in August but some places are already booked. June gives us more daylight if we want to dawdle along the way.
Luggage. I will arrange luggage transfer. This will cost about £6/day per suitcase. There is normally a maximum of 20kgs per suitcase. You can choose to carry your stuff with you but think if someone asked you to carry their luggage over 15 miles of hills for £6 you would probably tell them where to put their money.
The reason we are going during the week is because if we have to use hostels then they expect two day stays at the weekend.

Doug, are the first two days 15 miles? I may have train for this 😂
ElElliewalker on 09/10/21 @ 17:38Yes Ellie, about that but we have plenty of time to get from A to B so a few stops to take in the scenery. You did nearly 15 on that "shortened" walk from Wyming Brook with no problem. 😂
LWLazlo Woodbine on 09/10/21 @ 18:10Yes please .
KHKate H on 09/10/21 @ 19:37True 😀 and I don't think it will be so hot 😎
ElElliewalker on 09/10/21 @ 20:59I’ll join you for the first couple of days if that’s ok?😎
GlGlyn2 on 10/10/21 @ 0:24Glyn 2, will you be going home after your walks or do you want accommodation?

GlGlyn2 on 10/10/21 @ 23:27Yes please
Vickster on 12/10/21 @ 7:22I run a B and B in Llandudno so could provide some accommodation at a discounted rate, but not sure if it’s not too far from where your walking. I would be willing to do transfers in my car, can take 4 at a time. If that’s any help?
MpMany places still to see! on 13/01/22 @ 11:54Thanks for the offer MPSTS. I have booked all hotels etc now.
LWLazlo Woodbine on 13/01/22 @ 20:18Only just realised you’ve put the accommodation details up Lazlo, thank you. Eclectic mix 🙂. I’ll send you my preferences.
Vickster on 20/01/22 @ 8:05Hi Lazlo,
JohnH on 23/01/22 @ 11:29I'm happy with the accommodation as above. Most likely I'll be coming down in my van as travelling that far I'd want to extend the trip perhaps at either end so I'm looking into how I can organise that.
Do we pay for the accommodation as we go along?
For the baggage transfer, do we have to book it in advance? I may decide to put what I need in a rucksack and just carry it.
Cheers, John.
John. I will book luggage transfer. Nothing to stop you carrying it yourself but I always think if someone offered me say £6 to carry their suitcase 15 miles I would tell them where to stick their money. Hotels are pay on arrival.
LWLazlo Woodbine on 23/01/22 @ 17:50Hi all , my name Diane.
NFNorfolk For Good on 27/04/22 @ 20:36I’m new here so hello everyone .
Thank you Doug for excepting me onto this trip , I’m so excited x
I look forward to meeting you all x
The forecast on Tuesday, toughest day, is for high winds and rain. Will keep an eye on the forecast. Might have to change around the itinerary a bit or abandon a day which i am loathed to do. Maybe catch the train in Bangor to Abergele and do the last day first than get the train back to Llanferfechan.
