Had a quick look at trains and Bamford (09.40) may be close if anyone is passing; slow down to a safe speed and I can jump aboard if ok. Buy you a lemonade or two.

Glyn2: awww that's a shame, Rhiane, it would have been nice to see you again. Jan and I will try and put some walks up again, perhaps even in North Wales when we are visiting her daughter.

Yes, it was the Northern walk that I was on last year and I had to turn back due to the osteoarthritis in my right knee, but having had a full knee replacement in July I should be able to make it this year. I've just got to check out a few things before I change to being a definite, cheers, John.

Helen, if Sparky is talking about going to Bamford he would be on the same train as me going to Dore so if he is picking us both up at Dore would be more convenient.

Should say if you are picking us both up. However he might be arriving from Manchester not Sheffield in which case it is irrelevant.

Lazlo Woodbine: not anymore. It's on the list of parking places where the park authority introduced pay & display. Still £1.25 less than the Trent Water car park if you want to walk from there.

SharonC: that's a shame, sorry about this. Work tends to get in the way of many things. Hopefully you'll make it another time.

Lazlo Woodbine: Hurst Clough car park is still free, but it doesn't have many places and is 1.5 miles away

Flat cap (Mike): 🤔 Regarding your statement that 'it is no longer possible to always see who wrote a post', I was initially confused by unnamed posts too. However, I think it has become apparent that they occur when anyone creates two or more posts together, with only the last one staying named, so unnamed posts are written by the first name you come to below them. Perhaps Site Admin could confirm / clarify this.

Mike, I doubt I'll be able to make it for the walk, so hence, unlikely for the meal.

Thanks Mike, my knee is going really well, however it will take me some time to get back to full fitness, the muscles take a real battering during the operation.
It's a long drive for me and I'd really need to make a weekend out of it but with the short days and bad weather? Finally I can't get a site for my van.
