The Walkers' Dating and Singles Club

Are you a keen walker or rambler who would like to spend more time with someone who also enjoys your favourite activity? There is nothing better than walking hand in hand, admiring the views together, whether as a couple or as part of a group of friends.

Traditionally dating and making new friends is carried out at parties and in pubs, but these activities don't necessarily attract many ramblers and walkers keen on the outdoors.  Online dating allows keen walkers and ramblers to find other walking friends and partners in a safe and self-selecting environment. For a quick guided tour of what the Outdoor Duo online walking club has to offer, see our Home page.

Sign up for walking dating and walking friends

It is free to sign up and search the profiles. Just fill in your details, and then search our database of singles.  The site can be used both as a walking club where you can meet single friends, or a traditional dating site where you can meet walking dates.

Finding that Perfect Walking Date

Outdoor Duo is here for people who love walking and our focus is on enjoying the outdoors with that special person. See the Pictures gallery for a flavour of our members' interests in the great outdoors across the UK.

Many members of Outdoor Duo are searching for both partners and friends. Many love the fact that the site not only gives them the opportunity to meet the right partner, it also introduces them to many walking friends along the way.  Outdoor Duo is an active community with plenty of walking meets posted on the Invitations page.

Online Dating Works as Research Shows

Online dating works, and recent research backs this up. A new study of online dating site members has found that when couples who had built up a significant relationship by e-mailing or chatting online met for the first time, 94 per cent went on to see each other again.

Hiking, Walking or Rambling?

Are you a hiker, a walker or a rambler? The UK seems to be the only place that has ramblers, whereas hiking seems a bit of a foreign activity. We put the three words to the test. The Oxford Dictionary defines rambling as, "the activity of walking in the countryside for pleasure" which rather intriguingly suggests that walking is not always associated with enjoyment! Hiking is defined as, "a long walk or walking tour" which definitely has the ring of sodden boots, sore feet and a large drink in a warm pub associated with it. I don't think I need to define walking, suffice it to say that it isn't necessarily the same thing as a sober pub crawl across the fells.... So we might conclude that hiking is the most strenuous way to make new friends, walking is the middle ground, and rambling is the least exhausting.

To avoid confusion OutdoorDuo uses one category, walking.  Additional categories exist on however for mountaineering, scrambling and climbing as these go beyond normal hillwalking. You can use the advanced search to find new friends, partners or potential dates who share your level of interest in either walking, mountaineering or various other outdoor pursuits.
